Millie's Might Foundation is a compassionate nonprofit dedicated to supporting pediatric cancer patients and their families. By providing resources, sharing personal stories, and hosting fundraising events, we strive to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer. Join us in our mission to make a difference and support the children and families fighting this battle.

Our MIGHTY friends

An unplanned day with just my girl. It was so nice, and beyond needed. This girl is everything I want to be when i grow up. She teaches me so much about life.

Today we talked about how hard life is for everyone. You just truly never know what someone is going through. She told me she feels like depression is somewhat a choice. We talked about our grief and how different it is but the signifcance is the same. We talked about how easy it would be to just lay in bed and cry every day and night, but how would that be living? You’d just be miserable, and misery loves company. Ayverie looks at me and says, you’d be feeding it. You have to just give yourself some time to be sad, like three hours, and then pick yourself up and find something to smile about.

*disclosure, not saying anxiety/depression are not real, or completely a choice and neither is Ayverie. We both have come so far in this journey that she is just very proud of her work paying off. With the help of therapist, doctors, and a happy pill, we are slowly living again 💕💕

Today was so special! While running errands and appointments, we got to spend some time with @dearbabycj

He immediately made my heart burst! Mom says he is main character, and she is so spot on. He knows exactly how special he is! It was so nice to spend time with him and his mom, Kim!

Today we were able to help CJ’s family financially with the help of my step dad, Jeremy Nash, and his friend, Rick Sumner. They raised money for CJ and we were able to bless them today. Little do they know, they are blessing us!

Today we celebrated what should be our Millie girls •SIXTH• birthday. We blew bubbles to
Millie in heaven, we sang happy birthday, ate mermaid cake, we watched videos of mil, cried and hugged.

Almost all of our siblings, nieces and nephews, and parents all under the same roof to celebrate and remember our girl! It was so fun.

The cake was Mils idea. I had picked up mermaid napkins awhile ago. Well last night for some last minute shopping I decided to see what Walmart had for cakes. I walked by the mermaid cake and instantly knew Millie wanted that cake.

It’s was beautiful, just like her!

Tomorrow our baby would be turning six, instead she’s forever 3. We will continue to honor and cherish the memories she left and continues to leave for us.

Such a special day for us. 🐞✨

Sis had us up and out the door at 7:15 this morning. So proud of how far she’s come in the last year, hell even the last few months!

World cancer day. We honor our Millie. Not a day, hour, minute, or second goes by without thinking of her. We went from living a fairytale to anyone’s worst nightmare in a day. One day, everything changed. August 31st, we were rushing to the hospital after a call about Millie’s labs. There was a “possibility” of leukemia, but then we recieved a call from an oncologist, who said, she definitely has leukemia. We get to the hospital where we were told, don’t worry. It’s curable. Well, days later we find out Amelia has the more rare, aggressive type, few more days go by and it’s even more rare, a subtype of the rare leukemia she had. When people hear leukemia, they think it’s the better cancer to have, if you was going to have one. Amelia’s cancer wasn’t treated with drugs that were made for her body, they were made for adults, many years ago. Causing harsh side effect to her itty bitty body. Her leukemia outsmarted the drugs and became resistant. Leading us to transplant we heard “no more cancer” not remission, and I even questioned it. I claimed remission because that’s what I hoped and prayed for. I let myself believe we finally had a treatment that worked. But it didn’t! The cancer was still lurking. I will never understand why our children are not priority. Children shouldn’t have to DIE, to be a priority!

I got a call from Kyle after work… are you coming home!? I wasn’t sure what the rush was but he asked Ayverie and I to go to dinner with him!

We tried Texas Roadhouse, and I have never seen it so packed! We decided since we were in olathe we needed to find somewhere that wasn’t packed with a two-three hour wait time.

We all decided on Pizza Street and was glad we did. We had a blast, and was able to hear each other talking. The food wasn’t the best. But the memories made were unmatched, and just what we all needed.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I feel like I’m stuck living two lives. One where I’m allowed to remember your sweet face, and one where I’m supposed to keep going like everything is fine.

My heart aches for you. If it had arms it would be reaching out of my chest to the sky and into heaven, just to feel you.

I miss you and your beautiful smile. The way you lit up a room. The way you made everyone feel happy. The way you enjoyed life. The fact that you took everything on like such a champ is beyond me.

Grief is a tricky tricky thing.

One moment you’re enjoying the little things. The next you’re riding home in your vehicle with your family, and your husband says, look at the lights! You then say, “girls look!” Only to realize it’s only Ayverie.

I’m so grateful to be able to find joy in these hard times. Holidays are hard!!

We’re seeing Moana 2 for our Mighty Millie!! Sis requested dad turn around because she forgot her Millie bear. The one Millie girl made and picked out just for Her Ayverie!!! Such a special night for us.

Somebody get this dog a beer! He’s had a ruff day.

Millie’s Might foundation is having a toy drive for those fighting at CMH!! All toys will be delivered, and distributed to those fighting and battling through the holidays.

The holidays are hard, and even harder on families, siblings, and the ones in the hospital. Help us make their holiday a little more special by gifting to Millie’s might, or dropping a toy off at one of these wonderful places below.

Oh Millie girl! We miss you with every ounce of our body. Your laugh, your way of being kind to others, your silliness even through the hardest times. You kept us alive through it all, while we tried to keep you alive. Every day is such a battle. Hearing strangers in the community say your name to me, has been the biggest blessing. Daddy and I taught new nurses for 4Henson and we shared you and your silly ways. I hope you’re happy there. I hope you’re smiling down on me. I I hope you continue to guide us with your love.

Ayverie caught herself her first doe tonight! 🤣🤣

Today was such a special day. A Sunday well spent!!

Kyle Ayverie and I all just did whatever it was needing done. Had dinner and caught up with a great friend!
We shared so many memories of our sweet girl, and her Maxy boy!

Ayverie was ready to put up a fight for who was Mils favorite person, she quickly corrected me. It was SO CUTE.

It was so needed! 💜💜💜

Hi friends!! It’s that time of year. We will be hosting another toy drive. With that being said, we are hoping to find a couple businesses who’d be interested in hosting a drop off!

Also, Dollar General has a big clearance event and I’m going to go pick up some goodies for the prize box. A prize box is what is used for the kiddos after they get a pokey in their port, for doing really hard painful things.

A different side of grief.

So since losing our precious milbug, I have experienced several nightmares.

Almost nightly.

Finally, I have started to see a psychologist, I am seeing someone who is trained to help me get on track with the correct medications.

Tonight I got home super late, and just simply forgot to take them.

I’ve had two- three dreams.

1. Oz has had two very recent shootings (REMEMBER THIS IS MY DREAM)
2. I just shot ip out of bed, thinking I took my wedding ring off while at a store, to sample lotion. I didn’t have it on, and that was what I did in my dream.
3. I had a dream that people kept trying to knock on my door, aggressively while I was home with Ayverie and Amelia. I don’t know why, but it was scary.

These dreams are nothing like what I had, but holy shit. I have been out of bed 6 times since I went to bed at 1:00 am.

Grief is such a powerful thing, and it affects so many aspects of your life. I thought I was crazy, I thought I couldn’t get through it, I’ve thought it all.

I use my story to help, and I hope that’s what it does. I don’t ever want anyone to feel so much pain, and then on top of the pain comes all of these side effects. Grief isn’t just flash backs, or missing your loved one.

Still over the moon to be apart of something so incredible! Thank you Braden's Hope For Childhood Cancer for such a wonderful night of HOPE.

Did you know, 47 kids a day will be diagnosed with cancer.

Only 3.8 % of government funding goes to CHILDHOOD CANCER research.

Our friends at Braden’s hope are making waves. They raised $1.1 million dollars last Saturday.

The funding goes to right here, in our very own city!

Childhood cancer sucks. Just sucks!

Leukemia sucks!

Grief sucks!

Thankful today for my happy juice, that can help lessen the burden of being completely exhausted.

Thankful today for my daily medications and my prn medications, that help navigate through the pain.

Childhood Cancer Awareness month is a struggle. But, if WE (parents) don’t do it, who will? Our children are the promise for tomorrow.

We need to do better for them.

Whether you’re in treatment, you’re newly diagnosed, or you’re in somewhere in the between or you’re at home trying to ease your child’s transition into the arms of Jesus. It is all fucking hard! It is all next to impossible, but we are faced with it and we do it with such grace, hope, and determination.

The childhood cancer community is one like no other. It’s not a club anyone wants to be in, but it’s one that we all have each other.

Today is world leukemia day. Today I happened to wear my blood cancer awareness shirt with my Millie’s name on it.

I hate that it depends on us. But it does.

So when your Facebook friend is getting on your nerves because the pain of the childhood cancer pictures, or the unhappy post. Remember they didn’t choose this either. They chose to share, in order to help their child.

No family should ever have fight for their child’s life.

No child should have to fight for their life.

Children should get to grow up, play on play grounds, bounce on trampolines.

Not ride tricycles In hallways with tubies dangling and a parent trucking behind them with their iv pole. Not be in bed for days on end because their body is so sick from the treatments.

The list goes on. How can YOU help?

We left early to beat the crowd, and get dinner for heading back to work tomorrow.

Mighty Millie made her appearance as we left. I got a call from ayverie telling me to look up in the sky to the right. 😘

What a beautiful and special Saturday! We started our morning at the Rexy Run to cheer on all the runners, who run for childhood cancer! We got to meet other very special families, put a face to names, and just love on each other.

We met Moana and shared Amelia’s LOVE for her, and got to take our picture. It was the best moment ever!!

We went by our favorite pet store on our way home.

Then we celebrated Amelia’s best friend, or as most know her “frienemy” 😅 they absolutely loved each other but not at always daycare, as they both were in charge, and needed Miss Pam’s constant attention. They were so funny together.

My heart is so full and I know Mil was by our side all day.
